Technology Integration Strategic Planning ePortfolio

Mission & Vision Statements

For this part of the process, I reviewed the campus STaR chart, the school district's strategic plan, and a few other areas of the school district's website on technology where it related to direct teaching and learning. From here, I was able to figure out what areas of technology were in greatest need and impact from teaching and learning that I should work on.

The STaR Chart and the NAIS standards are very similar in four categories, with the fifth area listed in the NAIS which is digital ethics, and it is particularly important as well. The initial technology infrastructure may be set up or there physically at a school and/or within the entire district, and the leadership may fund it, but if there isn’t initial technology training, development, and support, or teacher buy in, time to learn, and then continuous quality integration of technology into the classes and/or subject areas that they facilitate for the students, then technology may not long survive in education for students and everyone. These 4/5 categories all must work together interchangeably for success to be achieved and the strategic planning of this integration of technology to achieve victory for our students who are our future!

The Humble ISD that I chose based on these things being considered, I believe that teaching and learning should be the areas of work going on continuously in this district because the leadership, infrastructure, education preparations, and technology resources are there and readily available, so the teachers and students should be allowed to move forward doing the best they can with teaching and learning through the use of integrated technology within their schools.

With the following Humble ISD’s mission and vision statements below along with other details provided by the district, yes, they should be able to guide the identification of key areas of work.

Humble ISD Technology Mission – focuses on incorporating technology into active learning surroundings to improve life-long learners' success in the classroom and beyond, to assist faculty with including technology into the subject areas and pedagogy with an emphasis on a current, safe, and enhanced learning environment.

Humble ISD Technology Vision – sees technology as an exceptional, creative, performing, and safely unified aspect of life-long learning, where they collaborate with instruction and daily business operations in this 21st century of academic organizations.
