I used to think...
I used to think strategic planning for technology integration didn't involve much, but I also haven't been directly involved in it before despite working in educational technology for well over ten years now in higher education.
Now I think...
Strategic Planning for technology integration is an important and involved process when working with academics and preparing to integrate new technologies. There are also a number of people to include in the process including educators, administrators, technology specialists, etc. In addition, I learned of the importance of including data such as the STaR chart and the other tools that schools/districts are using these days to assess a school's/district's technology readiness as well as other areas of importance with the faculty and students where technology integration is concerned. The strategic planning process involves things such as creating a vision and mission statement and then creating priority goals and action plans with strategy or strategies necessary to achieve and measure those goals. Overall, I have learned that implementing a school/district's strategic plan for technology integration is an important process to know about in order to assist other educators in successfully achieving such imperative remote technology post-two-year pandemic times we have all experienced with teaching and learning with our students. This is a process that is valuable and important to know all about and obtain skills in assisting with when implementing technology integration in 2022 classrooms and moving forward.
